Zaragoza residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a unique experience from this Friday until next September 27, celebrating creativity and cultural diversity. Local, national and even international artists will be responsible for the main interventions, but public participation will once again play a fundamental role in the festival’s success.
The main interventions will be carried out by international artists Land of Julia (Brazil), who will work on the San Pablo Health Center, and Nicolás Romero (Argentina), who will bring his creative vision to Las Armas Street. They will be joined by national artists MAZ, Ase Torralba, Spogo and Curro Claret, as well as Zaragoza artist Estefanía Abad.
Although Asalto is much more than an urban art festival. "It is a very powerful tool for social intervention and inclusion. Using urban spaces and making residents part of the festival is the most important thing," councilor Marian Orós stressed. The works and activities that can be seen in the coming days are the result of intensive work that began at the start of the year, with meetings and encounters involving various organizations, groups and local stakeholders.
TWO NEW FEATURES THAT ENHANCE THE FESTIVAL
This year, the organizers wanted to go a step further by including two proposals in the program aimed directly at the residents of El Gancho. The "Greenhouse Project" will create a space for plant care and community gatherings on the vacant lot on Miguel Ara Street, while the "Doorways Project" will enter, together with Zaragoza Vivienda, the interior and private spaces of certain homes and doorways, with intimate, smaller-scale works.

"Five artists have spoken with, met and collaborated with five residential communities on Agustina de Aragón Street. As a result of those conversations, unique interventions have been carried out in their doorways to improve these transitional spaces for coexistence," explained Asalto Festival coordinator Alfredo Martínez.
This year’s operations center will be located at 59 San Pablo Street. Talks with artists taking part in the edition, a sector gathering for national urban art projects and working meetings with independent creative spaces in the city will be held there, among other activities. The Asalto Fair will also close the edition at the venue, with more than 20 stalls run by artists and creators offering original works, limited editions, illustrations and other accessible formats, promoting the democratization of art.
