The intervention is the work of Penique Productions, an artistic collective founded by Sergi Arbusà and specializing in temporary installations created specifically for architectural spaces. Its projects use a plastic membrane that expands with air until it fills the space and completely alters the usual perception of the surroundings.
A PALACE TRANSFORMED FROM WITHIN
On this occasion, the installation has been designed specifically for Torrero Palace, home to the Official College of Architects of Aragón, at 7 Calle San Voto. ‘PATIO’ can be visited for one month and will remain open during Architecture Week, from October 6 to 9, and the Fiestas del Pilar, from October 10 to 18.
The opening will take place on September 17 at 7:00 p.m. and will also serve to publicly present the Aragón Architecture Cultural Foundation (Fundara), a new platform promoted by the Official College of Architects of Aragón. The first issue of FUNDARA magazine, focused on architecture, territory, heritage and contemporary culture, will also be unveiled that day.
A NEW PLATFORM TO BRING ARCHITECTURE CLOSER
FUNDARA has been created to open a new chapter in the dissemination of architecture and bring it to broader audiences. The foundation will promote cultural, publishing and academic activities related to the city, landscape, heritage, urban planning and territory, while also recognizing excellence in architecture created in Aragón.
The Official College of Architects of Aragón currently brings together more than 1,200 professionals and has an institutional presence in Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel. With the creation of FUNDARA, the institution aims to strengthen its cultural activity and encourage dialogue between architecture, other disciplines and contemporary debates.
