At its meeting on Tuesday, the Board resolved three proceedings opened against Quiles several months ago, each corresponding to a “serious offense.” Parliamentary sources said he was given a deadline to submit allegations, although “there is no record” that he filed any.
The three latest proceedings against Quiles, dated March 17, 25 and 26, detail “serious violations” involving “obstructing press conferences and sharing on social media images obtained in breach of the chamber’s rules set out” in its regulations, the sources said.
Quiles had already been suspended for three months in May for “serious violations.” According to parliamentary sources, the repeated offenses mean the three new violations are considered “very serious,” resulting in the permanent withdrawal of his accreditation.
The proceedings, dated March 17, 25 and 26, concern the obstruction of press conferences and the sharing on social media of images obtained in breach of the chamber’s rules.
The decision was approved with the support of the PSOE and Sumar, while the PP did not take part in the vote. Meanwhile, Bertrand Ndongo has other proceedings pending, including one for “pursuing” lawmaker Aina Vidal, which could be considered “very serious.”
