The new flight map, presented by Zaragoza City Council and the Government of Aragon, includes 20 new connections that will join established destinations such as London, Brussels, Rome, Milan and Marrakesh. The main new additions include cities such as Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Porto, Bratislava and Sofia, along with the restoration of routes to Paris, Düsseldorf and Venice.
The expansion is scheduled for March 28, 2027, coinciding with the start of the summer season, and will strengthen Zaragoza’s international presence, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe.
THE 15 COUNTRIES YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FLY TO FROM ZARAGOZA
The new network will allow travelers to fly from Zaragoza to 15 different countries, including Spain. The offering will combine established tourist destinations with new cities that until now have not had a regular direct air connection with the Aragonese capital.
Italy will be one of the countries with the strongest presence in the schedule. Regular connections to Rome, Milan and Bergamo will be joined by Venice, Pisa, Naples and Palermo, expanding travel options to different Italian regions.
The United Kingdom will also strengthen its connectivity with Zaragoza. Manchester will be added to the traditional route to London, while Belgium will maintain its connection to Brussels.
Countries gaining prominence include Poland, with flights to Warsaw and Krakow; Czechia, with a direct connection to Prague; Hungary, with Budapest; Slovakia, with Bratislava; and Bulgaria, with Sofia.
The international offering will be completed by France, which will restore its connection to Paris; Germany, with Düsseldorf; and Portugal, which will launch a direct route to Porto.
Switzerland will also be added, although it has not yet been decided whether the connection will operate through Basel, Zurich or Geneva.
Romania, for its part, will remain connected to Zaragoza through flights to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, while Morocco will expand its offering with Tangier, which will join Marrakesh.
Finally, Spain will also play a prominent role in the new flight map, with connections to Santiago de Compostela, Alicante, Malaga and Ibiza, in addition to the usual routes to the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.
In this way, the 15 countries included in the air service offering will be Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Romania and Morocco.
NEW TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES FROM ZARAGOZA IN 2027
The expansion of destinations will represent a major change for travelers from Aragon, who will be able to access a greater number of European cities directly without having to use airports such as Madrid or Barcelona.
The project includes 24 international routes and seven domestic routes under the new agreement. These will be joined by the usual connection to Palma de Mallorca, which will remain operational outside the 31 announced routes.
The initiative, promoted by the Government of Aragon and Zaragoza City Council, includes a joint investment of 8.8 million euros per year to improve the airport’s connectivity.
Beyond facilitating tourist travel, the new flight map aims to encourage the arrival of international visitors, foster commercial relations and improve Zaragoza’s prospects for attracting companies, conferences and events.
With this expansion, the airport hopes to exceed 1.3 million passengers a year, strengthening its role as strategic infrastructure for mobility and the economic development of Aragon.
