It is Aldi, which will open its first supermarket in central Zaragoza, specifically at 40 Paseo María Agustín. The store will have more than 1,100 square meters of sales floor and will mark another step in the company’s expansion across the Aragonese capital.
Aldi’s arrival in the area had already begun to take shape last June, when a large banner appeared bearing the message "New Aldi under construction." At the time, work was progressing on the commercial premises of a recently built residential building, although it was still unknown when it might begin welcoming customers.
SPECIAL DISCOUNTS TO CELEBRATE THE OPENING
The opening will also come with an added attraction for local residents. Aldi will offer special discounts during the first few weeks on a selection of products, including regional goods.

The new supermarket, known for its low prices, will offer a wide range of fresh produce, everyday shopping items and private-label brands. According to data provided by the company, nine out of ten products in its range are private-label goods, while eight out of ten are nationally sourced.
The chain also highlights the savings offered by its business model. According to its estimates, families can save more than 2,400 euros a year on their regular shopping.
The store’s location is no coincidence either. Situated next to the Plaza de Toros, close to the El Gancho neighborhood and just a few minutes from the Aljafería Palace, the new Aldi will give residents in this area of Zaragoza a new option for filling their shopping baskets without having to travel to other neighborhoods.
ALDI STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE IN ZARAGOZA
With this opening, Aldi is continuing to consolidate its presence in Aragon, where it already has stores in Teruel, Barbastro, Monzón and Calatayud, in addition to the two supermarkets currently operating in Zaragoza city, on Calle Marqués de la Cadena, in Arrabal, and on Avenida Séptimo Arte, in Valdespartera.
Nationwide, the company now has more than 510 supermarkets and eight million customers. Its expansion continued during September and October with new stores in Paterna and Torrent, in Valencia, and Puente Tocinos, in Murcia. Before the end of 2026, the chain also plans to continue growing in locations such as La Línea de la Concepción, in Cádiz, and Alcantarilla, in Murcia.
With this new opening, Aldi is strengthening its commitment to Zaragoza, a city that has become one of the company’s growth hubs in northeastern Spain. The arrival of this supermarket in the city center will allow the chain to reach thousands of potential customers and compete more directly with other established brands in the area. Although no official opening date has been announced at this time, everything suggests that the new store will open its doors in the coming months.
