Biendicho took part this Thursday in the round table ‘Destinations with identity: regional strategies to gain international relevance’, held in Zaragoza as part of the 6th Turespaña Convention. The event also brought together representatives of the governments of the Canary Islands, Asturias, La Rioja and Navarre to discuss the strategies the regions are pursuing to strengthen their international tourism profile.
The Aragonese minister linked the region’s tourism appeal to its nature, heritage and, especially, the character of the Aragonese people. He also highlighted tourism’s role in keeping traditions alive and ensuring economic activity and development in rural communities.
FROM ZARAGOZA TO THE PYRENEES: THE DIVERSITY OF ARAGÓN’S OFFERING
Biendicho argued that the variety of resources makes it possible to combine different experiences in a single trip. Among them, he cited Zaragoza’s cultural heritage, the snow of the Pyrenees, Aragonese villages, thermal tourism, hunting, fishing and gastronomy as elements that help define Aragón’s distinctive tourism offering.
During his speech, the minister also referred to growth prospects linked to promoting Aragón as a quality destination and to future plans to improve air connectivity at Zaragoza Airport. As contextual data, international tourist arrivals in Aragón have doubled since the end of the pandemic, reaching 1,359,606 visitors in 2025.
