The event was created to capture the spirit of the traditional Neighborhoods Festival and become an annual gathering for the neighborhood movement and everyone who lives in and helps build the city from its neighborhoods. There will be well-known names on stage, but also stories reflecting community life. In this first edition, FABZ will recognize the El Príncipe and Sidi Embarek Neighborhood Associations of Ceuta, the residents of Esperanza Street in Torrero and the Zaragoza Tenants’ Union.
Three recognitions and three different reasons that ultimately share the same common thread: defending the community. The Ceuta associations will be honored for their response to the humanitarian crisis and their work promoting social cohesion and intercultural coexistence; the residents of Esperanza Street, for defending public space as a meeting place through initiatives such as their outdoor communal dinners; and the Tenants’ Union, for defending the right to housing and protecting residents from speculation.
Saturday’s event also takes place during a weekend especially linked to the district’s neighborhood movement. On Sunday, September 20, a new edition of the Bajada del Canal will be held, once again calling for the recovery of the banks of the Imperial Canal as a green space and climate refuge for Torrero, La Paz and San José.

6 p.m. Performance by Ixeya, an Aragonese rural folk duo. 7 p.m. Performance by dancer and Zaragoza artist Salvador Gabarre "El Chapi." 8 p.m. Central "Orgullo de Barrio" tribute ceremony and presentation of the awards for this first edition. 8:30 p.m. Performance by Jambass, a women’s jam collective and project. 9:30 p.m. Tavern music by Bladimir Ros, featuring ironic and raw guitars and lyrics. 10:30 p.m. Sabotage and Salsa en el Solar will bring the day to a close.
