Serrano explained that, at present, all the works being carried out in the city are progressing within the scheduled deadlines except for Valencia Avenue, which was initially expected to be completed between January and February 2027 but will now extend beyond that timeframe. The councillor nevertheless stressed that Zaragoza City Council monitors the works on a daily basis and holds a weekly meeting to coordinate the different projects and prevent deviations from the schedule.
The municipal official placed the large number of projects currently under way within a strategy and planning process linked to the Zaragoza government's election platform. "There is an attempt to caricature the fact that there are many works because there is an election campaign, and that is not true," he said. According to details he provided, the city will reach 66 streets undergoing comprehensive renovation, 18 of them as part of the Huerva River project.
THEY APPEAL TO ZARAGOZA RESIDENTS' "INFINITE PATIENCE"
The councillor acknowledged that the works are causing disruption to residents and said that one of the reasons he has to "apologize" every day is precisely because of these impacts. Serrano appealed to Zaragoza residents' "infinite patience" while the projects are carried out, which he argued are intended to transform the city.
