The first phase will begin this Monday, September 14, and will take place between Cardenal Cisneros and Compromiso de Caspe until May 2027. During these months, 85% of Doctor Iranzo will remain operational and the intersection with Compromiso de Caspe will stay open, while the impact on bus services will be very limited: route 44 will only change its itinerary in the Actur–Miraflores Station direction. The City Council has organized the works this way so that the main streets in the surrounding area can continue operating normally.
THE SECOND PHASE WILL LAST UNTIL MAY 2027
The second phase will begin in May 2027, between Compromiso de Caspe and Silvestre Pérez, and will continue until autumn. This is the section where the greatest disruption will be concentrated, specifically during the summer months, when public transport use and traffic decrease. Routes 22, 30 and Ci3 will then have to change their routes when leaving the neighborhood, using the Fray Luis Urbano and Batalla de Lepanto corridor.
Once completed, Doctor Iranzo will have wider sidewalks, rest areas and 106 trees, as well as new street furniture and renovated infrastructure. The project covers 9,192 square meters and aims to create more space for pedestrians without removing any lanes or significantly reducing parking spaces and loading and unloading areas. The City Council will also provide assistance of up to €400 per month for businesses affected by the works.
