The neighborhood big-head figures have responded by sharing a message on their social media warning that they are "reaching the limit." The text, shared among others by the Zalfonada Caitasa Troupe, although the mobilization is being led by the Las Fuentes Troupe, which will serve as the Interpeñas festival announcer, recalls the years they have spent dedicating "time, effort and resources" in a "completely selfless" manner to keeping this tradition alive in their neighborhoods.
Zaragoza City Council maintains that this is a criterion established beforehand to preserve the uniqueness of the municipal troupe, while the neighborhood groups believe the measure hampers an activity they maintain throughout the year.
BIG-HEAD TROUPES TO GATHER IN PLAZA DEL PILAR
The discontent has not remained confined to social media. Several troupes have begun organizing a joint response to the municipal decision and have announced a gathering for September 26 at 5:00 p.m. in Plaza del Pilar.
