The initiative will take place during the festivities, from September 21 to 27, when participating balconies and windows must remain decorated. Registration is free and open from September 18 to 21. To enter, participants only need to send their details and a photograph of the decorated balcony or window to avvarrabal@gmail.com.
A €100 PRIZE TO SPEND IN ARRABAL'S SHOPS
The contest will reward the entry that best combines creativity, originality and the use of recycled, reused or recovered materials. The jury will consist of members of the Executive Board of the Tío Jorge Arrabal Neighborhood Association, who will also assess how the materials have been transformed and how well the decoration fits into the neighborhood surroundings.
The winner will receive a €100 voucher to spend at local businesses in Arrabal, meaning the initiative aims to combine sustainability with support for nearby establishments. The decorations must be visible from outside and installed safely to prevent any risk to pedestrians.
Residents will also have the opportunity to see the participating entries on a guided tour of the balconies and windows in the contest, scheduled for Sunday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m., departing from the Neighborhood Association at 9-11 Calle Pano y Ruata. The organizers will later announce when and where the prize-giving ceremony will take place.
