One of the most moving moments of this year's event was the tribute to and remembrance of Javier García, a member of the Military Emergency Unit, and Juan Luis Alonso, a firefighter with the Zaragoza Provincial Council, who died this summer while working to extinguish wildfires.
Their colleagues, families and all the participants kept their memory alive throughout the event, which also honored the more than 400 firefighters who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the attacks on September 11.

NEW ROUTE THROUGH THE CITY'S LANDMARKS
Following the tributes, the race began at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Fire Station. The runners passed through Plaza de los Sitios, Puerta del Carmen, the bullring, the Fire and Firefighters Museum, the banks of the Ebro, the Third Millennium Bridge and the Expo site before reaching a finish line that had changed location this year and was set up for the first time in Macanaz Park.
Among the runners were nearly 50 firefighters and UME members who took part in the 10K equipped with the aim of making visible on the pavement the memory of those who gave their lives trying to save others. They were joined by a contingent of more than 350 members of the Security Forces and Corps and the Armed Forces, including firefighters, police officers, military personnel and other professionals.
