The business came to Zaragoza under the Veintiuno brand, with a menu focused on American-style baked goods. The shop was primarily designed for takeaway sales, but it also had a small indoor area where customers could enjoy its products.
TWO YEARS OF CINNAMON ROLLS AND COOKIES
Since opening, cinnamon rolls had been one of Funky Rolls' main attractions. The menu included the classic cinnamon roll and different versions with fillings and toppings, along with oversized donuts, cookies in the style of those made by New York's famous Levain Bakery and specialty coffee.

The establishment was located on one of the city's most central streets, just a few meters from Plaza del Pilar, and featured decor inspired by American culture, with references to skateboarding and basketball.
Over those two years, the business expanded its offerings and tested new creations beyond baked goods.
THE LATEST ADDITION: NEW YORK-STYLE SANDWICHES
In June 2026, Funky Rolls added several New York-inspired sandwiches to its menu. They included The New Yorker, with pastrami and homemade Russian dressing; The Rancher, with Aragonese beef roast beef; The Godfather, made with Italian cured meats; Meatballs Roll, with homemade meatballs; and The American, with ham and cheese.
The new line expanded a menu that until then had been closely associated with sweet products and arrived just a few months before the shop closed.
The Don Jaime I shop has now closed its doors, and Funky Rolls is no longer serving customers at this Zaragoza location. So far, the business has not made the reason for the closure public, nor has it confirmed whether the brand will continue operating from another location in the city.
