The 2026 call was resolved this week by the Provincial Monitoring Committee for the Special Employment Plan, which met at the Government Subdelegation in Huesca. Among other bodies, the committee includes the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), INAEM, the Huesca Provincial Council, and municipal, business and trade union representatives.
PROJECTS IN 23 LOCAL ENTITIES
Key projects include fire prevention work in Velilla de Cinca, with €20,800; the renaturalization of areas in Monzón, with €22,400; the improvement of irrigation channels in La Jacetania, with €22,200; and the restoration of natural areas in Montanuy and Graus, with €22,300 and €22,500, respectively. Projects in other towns and counties across Alto Aragón will also be funded.
There are also projects in the Somontano County, the Ansó-Fago Forestry Association and the municipal areas of Torres de Barbues, Azlor, Peraltilla, Laspaúles, Binaced, Santa María de Dulcis, Biscarrués, Castejón del Puente, Benabarre, La Fueva, Fonz, Ontiñena, Azara, Aínsa-Sobrarbe, Pozán de Vero and Colungo.
In 2025, the program enabled the hiring of 47 workers by 26 local authorities in Huesca province, a figure similar to that planned for this year.
BOOSTING RURAL AREAS
The grants, funded through the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), cover the wages and Social Security contributions of the workers hired. Projects must contribute to the conservation of forest heritage and the environment or to the improvement of rural infrastructure, and should preferably be carried out outside the agricultural campaigns. The projects must begin in 2026 and be completed during 2027.
