The works will be carried out near the Los Olvidados stop and have been scheduled for late afternoon to minimize disruption. The last tram completing the route from Avenida de la Academia is expected to depart at 7:09 p.m., while the last full service from Mago de Oz will leave at 7:33 p.m. From then on, trams will no longer run between Romareda and Mago de Oz, although the rest of the line will operate as usual.
The track work is expected to take four hours, but approximately four additional hours will be needed for the material used to set properly. For this reason, tram services on this section cannot resume any earlier. If there are no setbacks, Line 1 will return to normal service from 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22.
MORE CHANGES THIS SUNDAY
However, the disruptions will begin on Sunday, September 20, with the Bomberos popular race, whose route has been changed this year because of works on Pedro Cerbuna Street. Service will be temporarily interrupted between Gran Vía and Romareda from approximately 9:15 to 9:55 a.m., although the timing may vary depending on the runners' progress. In addition, four trams that normally operate as single units will run as double units from the start of service until 11:00 a.m. to facilitate travel.
That same Sunday, there will be additional reinforcement for the match between Real Zaragoza and Cartagena, which will be played at 8:30 p.m. at Ibercaja Estadio. Before the match, two regular trams will be converted into double units and four additional double trams will be added. After the match, four more double units than those scheduled for regular Sunday service will be deployed.
Tranvías de Zaragoza has announced that all these changes will be communicated through notices at the stops and on the line's digital screens. Passengers can also check the service status in real time on the company's website.
