The closure will affect the section between kilometers 666.2 and 672.4 of the N-330 and kilometers 118.8 and 115.2 of the French RN-1134 road. According to the government, the measure is intended to ensure the safety of both workers and road users while the work is carried out.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE THROUGH THE SOMPORT PASS
During the closure, an alternative route will be available for cars and vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of less than 3,500 kilograms via the N-330a, through the Somport Pass.
For the transport of dangerous goods, the recommendation is to preferably use the Biriatou border crossing via the AP-8 and La Jonquera via the AP-7.
COMPLETE CLOSURE ALSO ON THE N-330A
Restrictions will be even greater for several hours on Tuesday, September 15. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the N-330a will be completely closed at the Somport Pass, specifically at the border with France.
During that period, there will be no alternative route in this area, so drivers should take the restriction into account before planning their journeys to France.
The work prompting these closures will be carried out by the Government of the French Republic and will involve stabilizing slopes on the platform on the French side of the tunnel, within the RN-1134 road.
