One of the first activities to get underway will be Circapacidad, by Peliagudo Arte y Circo, starting on September 4 and continuing every Friday until December 18, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The project invites people aged 16 and over, with and without functional or intellectual diversity, to try disciplines such as the trapeze, aerial silks, balancing, juggling and acrobatics in an adapted and safe space.
Emotional well-being through the performing arts will also take center stage with Teatro de las Emociones, organized by AFDA. The sessions will begin on September 9 and continue throughout October and November, combining games, improvisation, character creation and the performance of situations to learn how to explore, express and understand emotions.
ASALTO FESTIVAL AND A COLLECTIVE MURAL AT HARINERA ZGZ
The Asalto Festival will also visit Harinera ZGZ in September with Pintamos Mucho, a social art project coordinated by Carlos Spogo. The initiative will bring together people over 65 and young people and teenagers aged between 15 and 30 to design and paint a collective mural. The art workshop will take place on September 17, in two sessions, while the work on the wall will be carried out on September 18 from 10:30 a.m.
The aim will be to turn the creative process into a meeting point between generations. First, the design will be prepared using collage techniques, with papers in different colors to create the compositions. Participants will then transfer those ideas to the wall using brushes, rollers, sponges, brushes and sprays.
Nature will take center stage just one day later with Raíz Inclusivo, by the Inlaza Association. The first session will take place on September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will be open to people with and without diversity aged from 3 to 100. Kokedamas, mini gardens, dream catchers and other creations made with flowers and natural materials will help stimulate the senses and promote interaction between generations.
SIGN LANGUAGE, PAINTING AND WELL-BEING TO ROUND OFF SEPTEMBER
Among the new activities with the longest run is the basic Spanish Sign Language (LSE) course organized by ASZA, the Association of Deaf People of Zaragoza and Aragon. It will begin on September 24 and continue on Thursdays, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., until December 16. It is aimed at people over 16 with no previous knowledge and will be taught by native Deaf teachers with experience in teaching LSE.
The September program will be rounded out by Trazos Compartidos: memory, collective storytelling and well-being, an initiative by ASAPME that will begin on September 29. Over several sessions, participants will work together on a large mural on canvas and combine painting with a logbook, sound capsules and the creation of a collective fanzine. The initiative seeks to use artistic creation as a tool for sharing experiences, reducing stress and building new social networks.
All these activities are part of Harinera ZGZ’s accessible culture program. The center is located at 201-203 Avenida de San José, next to Jardín Sergio Algora. The September activities mentioned are free, although places are limited and pre-registration is required. Applications can be submitted by email or in person at the center, which is open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
