The opening of Sádaba Street provides further relief for an area of Zaragoza that has been affected in recent months by work to transform the Portillo surroundings. The reopening comes just one day after traffic resumed at the turn from Paseo de María Agustín onto San Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer Street, an operation that has also had a direct impact on mobility in the city center.
Traffic flow on Marie Curie Street has also returned to normal at this point, while bus route 22 continues to operate along its specific route, changing direction at the Ciudadanía roundabout.
A WEEK OF REOPENINGS IN A KEY AREA
The two operations are part of an especially significant week for mobility in Zaragoza, with several projects beginning to unblock points affected by the works. In the case of Paseo María Agustín, the reopening of the turn has restored a connection used by thousands of vehicles every day and reduced pressure on other intersections in the area.
Rodrigo argued that although these interventions cause disruption while they are under way, they are necessary to renew networks and services and ultimately create streets that are "more accessible, safer and, above all, more comfortable".
