The opening of this turn will ease pressure at one of Zaragoza's particularly sensitive traffic points, where the Centro, La Almozara and Delicias districts converge. Mobility councillor José Miguel Rodrigo said the reopening would restore "a sense of normality" in an area that has experienced major traffic disruption during the roadworks.
The work is part of a week in which Zaragoza will recover some of the mobility lost at various points across the city. The council believes the reopening will improve connections between the city center and Delicias and make travel easier at one of the main traffic hubs around Portillo.
SAN GREGORIO REGAINS ACCESS VIA CAMINO DE LOS MOLINOS
Meanwhile, the rural district of San Gregorio has regained access via Camino de los Molinos. The road reopened this Friday after work was completed to replace a pipe that burst during the summer. The project finished several days ahead of the date initially scheduled.
In addition to repairing the fault, the work was used to improve the area's asphalt and road surface. Camino de los Molinos is a regular route to San Gregorio and also one of the access roads to the area around Hospital Royo Villanova.
