The project responds to a long-standing demand from residents of La Almozara, after the kiosk, built in 1992, had to be sealed off because of the deterioration of its structure, particularly the roof. The project plans to preserve the existing base and demolish the damaged elements to build a new facility in their place that will be more open and adapted to current needs. The works will take 90 days to complete.
WHAT THE NEW KIOSK WILL LOOK LIKE
The new design will feature a lightweight, open structure and a green roof, intended to blend in with the park's trees. One of the most striking elements will be the roof coffers, inspired by the geometric shapes of the historic Throne Room at La Aljafería. The microperforations will also create patterns of light, particularly visible at night, giving the kiosk a renewed appearance without losing its connection to the surroundings.
The renovation will also incorporate sustainability criteria, including photovoltaic panels to generate energy for the facility itself and a rainwater collection system that will channel the water into the park's pond. The final design also incorporates contributions from local residents, who took part in defining a space conceived as a cultural and social meeting point.
