These two projects were already approved by the Zaragoza government last December, with a combined investment of €1.6 million. The new pitch at CMF El Rabal has a budget of more than €814,000, while the one in Torre Ramona, in Las Fuentes, exceeds €801,000.
AN INVESTMENT DISTRIBUTED ACROSS THE DISTRICTS
Zaragoza City Council is now incorporating these projects into a broader initiative that includes replacing the turf at another ten pitches. According to Natalia Chueca, the work responds to requests submitted by various neighborhoods and districts across the city. The mayor said the aim is to continue improving municipal sports facilities and promoting grassroots football.
Chueca also linked these investments to Zaragoza's preparations for its European Capital of Sport designation and highlighted that municipal services continued working throughout August so that September could begin with new procedures and projects. "This government does not stop, it does not rest," she said.
The mayor placed these initiatives within the drive the city government wants to give to pending projects during the final months of the term. This Monday, she brought together her coordination team to review the works and investments under way and seek to ensure that the commitments made to Zaragoza residents can be completed before the end of the term.
