The installation of this system will be one of the final steps before the site opens. Zaragoza City Council has set aside 17,206.20 euros, including VAT, to purchase, assemble and install the cameras, which must be in place during the first week of November 2026, just days after the rehabilitation work is completed, scheduled for October 31.
The aim is for the new facility to open its doors with all the necessary security guarantees, both for the premises and property and for the people using the complex. Zaragoza City Council also justifies the contract on the need to have the system fully operational from the start of activities and to prevent its installation from delaying the opening.
READY TO WELCOME MAJOR PRODUCTIONS
Distrito 7 is one of Natalia Chueca's major projects for her term in office. Through it, she aims to promote Zaragoza's audiovisual sector. The transformation of the former Giesa factory, with an investment of 20 million euros, will create a complex bringing together audiovisual production, training, entrepreneurship, businesses and culture, while also housing the new headquarters of the Zaragoza Film Library.
The studios already have a company to manage them. EFD Studios, an international company of Mexican origin, will be responsible for launching them and attracting new productions, with the first shoots expected to begin in 2027. The company plans to invest one million euros in the facilities and has already highlighted international production companies' interest in working in the Aragonese capital.
