The exhibition offers a highly visual journey through the evolution of a network that has grown at the same pace as Zaragoza. Through photographs, collages and compositions in both color and black and white, the panels showcase some of the most recognizable historic vehicles, distinctive body designs and the most modern and sustainable models that are part of the current fleet.

The journey through the history of Zaragoza’s transport system also recalls services and routes that are part of the city’s recent history, such as the tourist bus, shuttle services, the network created for Expo 2008 and the bookmobile. There is also room for something as everyday as how passengers pay their fare: from old cardboard tickets and bus passes to the arrival of the electronic card in 2006 and today’s digital systems.
The exhibition, which is part of European Mobility Week and marks Avanza’s 140th anniversary, also focuses on the people who make it possible for the city to keep moving every day. Drivers, mechanics and service workers receive a special tribute alongside the thousands of passengers who use a constantly changing network. It is a look at the past that also helps explain how much Zaragoza has changed and how its transport system is preparing for the coming years.
