The transformation covers more than 26,500 square metres and has involved a municipal investment of around 20 million euros. The project, Zaragoza Mayor Natalia Chueca explained, will allow the city to reclaim a space that has been unused until now and give it a new purpose linked to audiovisual production, entrepreneurship and training.
The next objective is for the complex to begin filling with activity once the work is complete. The first shoots are scheduled for the first months of 2027, while new tenders will also be launched in the coming weeks to set up other spaces for companies and entrepreneurial projects.
HOW THIS UNUSED INDUSTRIAL SITE HAS BEEN RENOVATED
"In October, Zaragoza City Council will have formally taken receipt of the completed works," Chueca said, presenting District 7 as one of the city’s major urban transformation projects. The intervention goes beyond renovating the former industrial site: it aims to create an ecosystem capable of attracting new productions and generating jobs linked to the audiovisual sector.
From September, the spaces intended for entrepreneurs and companies are expected to be put out to tender, while the tender related to training will be addressed during the final quarter of the year. The project thus aims to combine business activity, production, training and the revitalisation of an area that connects with neighbourhoods such as San José, Montemolín and Las Fuentes.
