Although summer is not yet over, the Provincial Council’s firefighters have already reached a record in drinking water deliveries at various locations across the province. The lack of rainfall since spring and the wildfires recorded in recent months have increased supply needs. So far, 1.5 million liters of water have been distributed using trucks with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 12,000 liters, depending on each service.
DELIVERIES IN THREE PHASES
The deliveries have been divided into three lines of action. The first is to guarantee drinking water supplies to communities affected by wildfires. Under this line, Osia and Atarés continue to receive water. The deliveries will continue until the Aragon Water Institute declares their water intakes fit for use.
The second line concerns communities that have requested water supplies because of the drought or failures in their water systems. Water has been delivered to the settlements of Cerler, Buira, Formigal, Serué, San Esteban de Guarga, Arraso, Aineto, Las Tiesas Altas, Mipanas, Hecho, Aguinalíu, Eripol, Atarés, Pueyo de Marguillén and Espierba.
The third line involves supplying distinctive or isolated buildings. In this case, deliveries have been made to Ansó (Linza mountain refuge), Canfranc, Jaca and Santa Cruz de la Serós.
