Possible actions include ordering work to be suspended in this Zaragoza district, establishing additional safety measures or allowing the project to continue as normal while the appeal is resolved. Therefore, accepting the appeal for processing does not mean that the two service stations have been automatically halted.
RESIDENTS EXPRESS OPPOSITION TO THE PROJECTS
The neighborhood association remains firmly opposed to the projects, which affect two locations: the La Sabina roundabout, corresponding to file 20.597/25, and Manhattan Street, covered by file 5.705/25. Residents believe their construction poses a risk to health and safety, particularly because of the proximity of the CPI San Jorge and CPI Soledad Puértolas schools, as well as children's parks and green spaces. They also argue that the gas stations are incompatible with Valdespartera's eco-district model and warn of a possible increase in traffic, the presence of tanker trucks, noise and pollution.
The dispute will also return to the streets. The association has called a rally next Tuesday, September 15, at 5:15 p.m. at the roundabout where one of the gas stations is planned, and is encouraging residents to attend to demand that the projects be halted. Its demands also include rigorous studies on their environmental and mobility impact, as well as urban planning that prioritizes public health, safety and the protection of the district's spaces.
