CGT and CCOO have announced that mobilizations will be called, after workers approved them on June 29. Since then, eight meetings have been held, during which, according to the statement, there has been “no progress whatsoever.” A new meeting between both sides has been scheduled for next Tuesday, but the two unions “see it as almost impossible for the company to change its attitude and try to bridge differences.”
Both organizations criticize the fact that “the company has proposed pay increases below the CPI, which still fail to guarantee purchasing power,” and that FCC has proposed “not a single measure or advance” on work-life balance, job stability, internal promotion, equality or reduced working hours.
In this situation, the statement criticizes FCC’s “totally inflexible stance.” It warns that the company is failing to respect agreements with employees on issues such as “the vacation system, access to partial retirement and the abusive use of weekend staff expansions.” According to the unions, legal action has even been brought against the members representing workers at the negotiating table.
“This is the time to keep fighting together to secure a fair collective agreement that finally reverses the serious losses of rights and purchasing power that we have endured in recent years,” the union representatives conclude.
