The session, attended by the area's mayors, social stakeholders and interested companies, followed up on the meeting held in the municipality on June 15. It was attended by ITJ Director Judit Carreras García.
This ministerial order will allocate the 937 MW in the order applications that meet the established requirements are received. These include “assuming socioeconomic commitments analogous to those of the tender already held”.
The Ministry says the selected projects will be considered “preferred”, which will halve the administrative processing deadlines and ensure they receive priority attention from the administrations involved.
RAFAEL GUÍA PRAISES MITECO'S “WILLINGNESS”
Andorra Mayor Rafael Guía attended the meeting. Afterwards, the secretary-general of the PSOE in Teruel also compared Miteco's “willingness” to “put forward solutions” by bringing “concrete proposals that become reality” for the area's reindustrialization with the “lack of alternatives” from the government of Jorge Azcón and the “photo opportunities and manifestos” of its regional ministers.
“As of today, the People's Party has only made empty criticisms and offered no commitment,” Guía said, criticizing the fact that “no representative” had attended today's briefing. “That shows the PP's level of interest in the area,” he said, also referring to Vox, its coalition partner in the Government of Aragon: “it is neither present nor expected, because it only defends the powerful.”
The mayor of Andorra once again called for positive-discrimination criteria in the distribution of European just-transition aid managed by the Government of Aragon. “Barely 30% has reached the ground zero of the restructuring,” he warned.
He also called for the recovery of the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE) scheme for business projects in areas undergoing mining-sector restructuring, which he says disappeared under the PP-Vox Government of Aragon, despite the more than 13 million euros allocated to the “Lanza Teruel” program.
