Aragon Government to Join as Private Prosecutor over Riglos Wildfire

The Government of Aragon will join as a private prosecutor in the preliminary proceedings opened over the alleged commission of a forest fire crime in connection with the blaze that started on August 10 in Santa María de la Peña (Huesca). It has also requested that Las Peñas de Riglos, Bailo, Santa Cilia, Santa Cruz de la Serós, Caldearenas and Jaca be declared severely affected areas following a civil protection emergency.

Marta Tejero, director of the Aragon Institute of Social Services, submitted her resignation from the post on Monday. The Aragon Government announced the decision that same day, explaining that her resignation was based on “personal reasons.”
