The farewell came through the establishment’s own social media accounts, in an emotional statement that begins with a phrase summing up the difficult moment: "There are goodbyes we never wanted to write." Those responsible for La Tasquilla acknowledge that closing the bar was not an easy decision and that they tried to keep the business afloat until the very end. "Throughout all this time, we fought for as long as our strength allowed, looking for ways forward, trying to find solutions and doing everything possible so that this project could continue," they explained.
However, those efforts were not enough to continue operating. "There was no shortage of effort, hope or the desire to continue, but there are times in life when, despite having tried every possible way, you have to accept that a chapter has come to an end," they lamented. In the same statement, Vicente, one of the people responsible for the establishment, acknowledged that there are still pending matters to resolve and assured customers that he would do everything possible to address them within his means.
THIS IS WHAT LA TASQUILLA, THE ZARAGOZA BAR FAMOUS FOR ITS XXL SANDWICHES AND BURGERS, WAS LIKE
La Tasquilla was one of those establishments to visit when you were hungry. Its main attractions were its large sandwiches and XXL burgers, although its menu also included a wide variety of portions, salads and combination plates. It offered informal cuisine, generous servings and options for sharing, a formula that had accompanied the business throughout its years in Zaragoza.
Menu options included patatas bravas, fried squid, calamari, croquettes, prawns and chicken wings. There were also classic combination plates with fried eggs, pork loin, sausages or chicken breast, as well as sandwiches with different fillings. This offering made La Tasquilla a well-known spot for those looking for a filling meal without too many complications.
The establishment had built much of its history on Calle Federico Ozanam, in Valdefierro, before moving to Miralbueno in November 2025. However, this new chapter was brief, and the bar has now closed its doors for good. Those responsible bid farewell by recalling that a business is much more than its dishes: "We know that there will be people and customers who will miss this place, its tapas, its conversations, its laughter and those moments that, in the end, are what make a bar much more than four walls."
La Tasquilla is thus bringing more than 10 years of history in Zaragoza to an end with one final message for those who once sat at its tables: "Because a bar can close its doors, but what was experienced inside them does not disappear. Thank you for being part of our story. Thank you for so many years. Goodbye forever."
