Those who have been selected will have to keep an eye on their mailboxes over the coming days. Zaragoza City Council will deliver the notices by hand and individually to residents' homes between November 5 and 10. There will be no public list to check the names of those selected, nor a tool allowing people to find out in advance whether they have been chosen.
Alfonso Mendoza, the councillor for Citizen Participation and Internal Affairs, explained that the process is now entering its notification phase. "Starting tomorrow, over the next five days, they will be notified at home if they have been fortunate enough to be selected as members of a polling station board," he said.
RESERVE MEMBERS WILL ONLY BE NOTIFIED IF NEEDED
One issue Carmen Corral, head of Organization and General Services at Zaragoza City Council, wanted to clarify is that not everyone included in the draw will receive a notification. Of the 14,720 people selected, seven for each polling station are reserves and will only be notified if the nine initial positions cannot be filled: three regular members and six substitutes. "Not everyone will receive the notification," she warned.
An online portal will also be made available so that those who have been selected can consult all the documentation needed to perform their duties, including the polling station members' manual. Mendoza stressed that this resource will provide instructions and answer questions, not indicate whether someone has been selected. Therefore, the only official way to receive the appointment will be to wait for the individual notification.
