Rafa Guerras, president of the Alcampo-Scorpio 71 club, highlighted the importance of this event in encouraging sport and healthy living among children from a very early age. "This race is the seedbed of our society," he said.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, the race will host the Health Fair, organized by the Aragon Association of Primary Care Pediatrics. It will offer workshops and information points on healthy practices for young people. It will be held in the area next to the Music Kiosk in Grande Park.
23 RACES AND REGISTRATION
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m., with 200-, 400- and 800-meter races adapted to different age groups, from those born in 2010 to the youngest participants, born in 2021 and later. In total, 23 races will take place throughout the morning.
The top five finishers in each race will receive prizes, as will the five schools that accumulate the most points across all the events. All participants will receive a race pack, while the schools or sports clubs that bring the largest number of athletes to the event will receive a cash prize of €400.
Registration is open until midnight on Thursday, September 17. Race numbers can be collected at the CDM Perico Fernández on September 19 from 5:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., as well as on the day of the event, half an hour before the start. The registration fee includes a €2 donation to the Down Foundation.
