Óscar de Paula's team will compete in Group A, where it will face Burgos Grupo de Santiago, Barça Atlètic, Real Madrid, Valencia Basket, Fundación CB Canarias and Básquet Girona. Group B, meanwhile, is made up of UCAM Murcia Juver, Euskaltax Bilbao Basket, Unicaja Alhaurín de la Torre, Obradoiro, Kids&Us Manresa, Joventut Badalona and Amada Lleida.
As in the previous season, the competition will consist of two phases. The first is a 14-round home-and-away league, with one team from each group receiving a bye in every round. Once the first phase has concluded, the team finishing first in Group B will move into Group A, while the team finishing last in Group A will make the reverse move and join Group B. The Play-Out matches will also remain in place, pitting the fifth- and sixth-placed teams in Group A against the third- and second-placed teams in Group B.
The final round of the first phase will take place on December 18 and 19, when the standings will be decided. A few days later, on December 23, the Play-In will be held. The competition's second phase will begin on January 4 as a Three Kings' Day gift and conclude on April 17. Once the standings have been determined, the matchups between Groups A and B will be known in early May, defining the teams that will compete in the second U League Final 6 from May 13 to 17.
