In the 17th minute, Mario Sesé took a corner that no one in López de Lerma's defense was able to clear, and after a series of deflections, Albisua fired the ball into the back of the net. However, the assistant referee quickly signaled that the ball had gone over the goal line during the corner, a highly controversial decision because, despite a review, the officials upheld their call.
Teruel supporters were furious about the incident, and on both X and Facebook they have shared videos showing that the ball did not completely cross the goal line. The goal therefore should have counted, and it is impossible to know whether Teruel might have taken all three points instead of just one.
"How hard it is to compete with the big clubs and with power! How unfair it is!" said one supporter, who posted a video recorded from very close range showing that the ball barely approached the goal line. Much of the Teruel fanbase has complained about the incident, although all it can do now is accept that such decisions happen in football.
