Her 100th medal was secured with apparent ease, as Perales set a very fast pace in the 50-meter backstroke final, finishing in 1:09.26 and comfortably beating Italy's Procida. At the European Championships in Turkey, the Aragonese swimmer has also won three silver medals in the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle and 50-meter freestyle, as well as bronze in the 50-meter breaststroke. Her achievement was joined by María Delgado, who also won gold in the 100-meter freestyle S12.
Teresa Perales' 100 medals are distributed as follows: 28 at the Paralympic Games, 23 at the World Championships and 49 at the European Championships. It remains to be seen whether she will compete in Los Angeles 2028, which would be her eighth consecutive Paralympic Games after it all began in Sydney 2000.
