The organization's president, Guillermo Ramos, spoke about what it means for the group to hold its event on such a significant day. "It is an immense honor because it demonstrates all the work carried out over these years, and being able to do it at an event like this gives it even greater significance," he said. "It will be very special for our athletes because they can also see that the event itself includes sports they practice, which gives even more value to everything we have been doing for 35 years," he added.

The anniversary celebration will take place before the event begins, at around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, with several athletes from the organization carrying a torch from Plaza España to Plaza del Pilar. Around 300 people, including athletes, volunteers and members of Special Olympics' management, will thus open a weekend packed with sport in a very special way.
