"My qualities fit Ibai's playing philosophy. I am a fast defender who likes defending in open spaces, with room behind the defense, being aggressive in duels and pressing forward. For that reason, we believe this is an ideal place to develop because the conditions are good for me individually," explained the Valencian, who also highlighted the "very good" opportunity awaiting him in the Aragonese capital.
Iranzo therefore stressed that, although he can also play at right-back, the position he has played throughout his career is center-back. "From the first minute, Real Zaragoza had it in mind for me to play as a center-back, and that is one of the reasons I came here," revealed the Valencian player, who arrives eager and with "ambition and excitement" to develop both individually and as a club on the path toward professional football.
Having already arrived last week and completed several training sessions with the team, the center-back from Picaña praised the "spectacular group of people" in a white-and-blue squad that "has a very high level from a footballing perspective." HIS LATE ARRIVAL
As the center-back himself suggested, Iranzo's move to Real Zaragoza took longer than expected because Valencia was slow to approve his departure: "It was a somewhat different transfer window. They contacted me very early, but because of different situations involving the clubs and the timing, things took longer. We always believed it could happen, and in the end it did, which is what we all wanted."
