Real Zaragoza trained again this Thursday without its familiar striker. Edu Espiau, whose goal secured the first three points of the season, was not with his teammates. Asked about the issue, the SAD explained his absence as “workload management.” If that is the case, therefore, there should be no cause for concern.
The session featured plenty of ball work. There was a great deal of movement and fast passing in tight spaces. Pass, pass and pass. Certainly, the approach Ibai Gómez wants at Real Zaragoza is eye-catching, attractive and elegant, judging by what has been seen during the first 15 minutes of sessions open to the press.

However, this approach must not only be carried onto the pitch in competitive matches but, above all, must be turned into victories. After two rounds in the third tier of Spanish football, Real Zaragoza have recorded one defeat and one win, the latter coming in their most recent match.
The task remains unfinished. They need to keep collecting three points at a time to move closer to the unavoidable objective: winning Group II and returning to the Segunda División by the fastest route.
NEXT STOP
Real Zaragoza’s next stop comes this weekend against Juventud de Torremolinos. The latter return home after two consecutive away matches against Atlético Madrileño and Real Madrid Castilla. They will make their home debut against one of the division’s major teams, and they will not make things easy.
The match will take place on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at El Pozuelo, the Andalusian side’s stadium — in the province of Málaga — which they have just reopened after the necessary work to bring it up to the division’s standards. This is where Real Zaragoza need to win again. Only in this way will they be able to move into the upper part of the table. Little by little. Step by step.
