This Thursday, Real Zaragoza trained again at the Ciudad Deportiva. It was their second day of preparation ahead of their home opener, with time to fine-tune their preparations through Friday. The match against Antequera is scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
And Ibai Gómez has options to choose from. With the squad fully fit and the transfer window closed, he could even field an entirely new lineup. That does not appear likely, except in defense, where the Real Zaragoza coach could make some changes.

In Tarragona, the center-back pairing consisted of Tachi and Barrachina. In principle, at least one of the two will move to the bench, as Diego González returns after suffering a blow to the head. He was ruled out more because of protocol than because he was unable to play, and he is expected to start on Saturday.
The uncertainty concerns his partner. He could be joined by Rubén Iranzo, recently signed from Valencia's reserve team. He stands out for his speed, a highly valuable quality in the back line Real Zaragoza have put together.
If Diego González partners Iranzo, the center-back pairing would change completely for the second round. A change at right-back appears more difficult, with Gabilondo expected to start, which would leave Sangalli out. On the left, it remains to be seen whether Ibai keeps Escudero in the lineup or opts for Pereira.
OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM
From there, it remains to be seen how he arranges the pieces in midfield and attack. There have been no last-minute changes or injury recoveries, which means the Real Zaragoza coach will choose based on preference—those he likes most rather than forced obligations.
There was a defeat in Tarragona, but also, in the coach's view, what football calls positive feelings. It remains to be seen which factor carries more weight. Friday will be Real Zaragoza's final scheduled day of preparation.
