Real Zaragoza are therefore without any injured players. What happened in the 3-4 victory over Juventud de Torremolinos, when three players were forced off with physical problems, turned out to be nothing more than a scare. The same was true of the discomfort suffered by the striker who secured the team’s first win of the season.
Ander Herrera was the biggest concern. He went to ground shortly after the start of the second half in the match at El Pozuelo and had to be substituted. The Real Zaragoza player, who has traditionally been troubled by muscular problems, set off alarm bells. But it has all come to nothing.

Real Zaragoza’s two centre-backs, Diego González and Rubén Iranzo, also caused concern. They were substituted with physical problems just ten minutes apart. From the outset, these did not appear to be serious issues. However, given how indispensable they are, any minor setback is worrying.
Edu Espiau’s case dates back to last week. He was left out of Real Zaragoza’s squad as a precaution and did not join the rest of the substitutes in Monday’s recovery session. After Tuesday’s rest day, he was one more member of the group during the period when the session was open to the press.
SANTOS’S VISIT
Santos Nagore, a leading figure at A.Gain, the majority shareholder of the Aragonese SAD, closely followed the team’s training session. He arrived at the facilities on the Valencia road shortly before training began and took a seat in the stands to watch Ibai Gómez’s work. In this way, he saw Real Zaragoza’s session firsthand.
The A.Gain executive assessed the coach’s work. He watched a session featuring a significant amount of ball work, with the players operating in larger spaces than against Torremolinos. But, essentially, it was what Ibai Gómez is trying to put into practice in every match.
HOME REUNION
Real Zaragoza will play at home again this weekend at Ibercaja Estadio. They beat Antequera two matchdays ago and hope to repeat the result against Cartagena. The game will take place this Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
