The first truly new face was Rubén Iranzo. Real Zaragoza coach Ibai Gómez described him well: an athletic, fast player with a certain ability to play the ball out from the back… There is a significant difference between the two goals conceded in Tarragona and the clean sheet against Antequera. The Valencian defender, like debutant Diego González, had a great deal to do with it.
The second player to praise is Marco Sangalli. Real Zaragoza were able to surprise with his introduction, move the ball better and speed up their attack. As he himself acknowledged, he is not yet at 100% physically, and it showed as his energy did not last throughout the second half. But while he was at full strength, he was able to transform the Blanquillo side's attack from right-back.
LIKE TWO NEW SIGNINGS
The other two players were like new Real Zaragoza signings for the second matchday. Diego González, alongside Iranzo, was commanding at the back. It was also the first match they had played together.
But the most decisive player was Edu Espiau. The striker did not get any minutes against Nástic de Tarragona when Real Zaragoza needed to equalize. He did against Antequera, scoring the goal that gave the Blanquillo side its first victory. He did what a striker is supposed to do. He scored the winning goal for a Blanquillo side that could finally breathe again.
