The Aragonese side's leader and captain, Mariona Ortiz, will be honored after recently winning a bronze medal at the World Cup with the Spanish national team, while forward and red-and-white standout Helena Oma will receive the same recognition after being crowned European runner-up with the national 3x3 team last weekend. The Aragonese club wants to share both achievements with the Marea Roja on a very special day at Príncipe Felipe.
The tribute will take place before tip-off of the women's game, scheduled for 5:30 p.m., during a day dedicated to presenting the organization’s two teams to a Marea Roja that will get a close look at the new additions to both red-and-white squads.
A DAY PACKED WITH BASKETBALL
The men's team will open the intense day at 12:15 p.m. against UCAM Murcia in the XXII Ibercaja Ciudad de Zaragoza Trophy, the 'XI José Luis Abós Memorial.' In the afternoon, it will be the women's team's turn against Athinaikos Qualco, who will arrive in Zaragoza as the reigning EuroCup runners-up and will also face the Aragonese side in the first phase of the EuroLeague this season.
The two games will allow both Casademont teams to wrap up their preseason before beginning competitive action on the final weekend of September. In addition, the day will hold special significance for the club, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and aims to strengthen the connection between its teams and the Marea Roja.
