The first half was closely contested, with both teams taking control at different moments, although the game came in flashes from both sides and neither could pull clear on the scoreboard. Proof of that was the 21-19 scoreline at half-time.
Contazara returned from the break with an extra gear as they tried to overturn the deficit and came close to doing so, but the Catalan reserve side's set plays proved decisive. The Aragonese team continued to push hard for victory, but little could be done against Barça in the closing minutes.

The Alto Aragonese side started strongly and comfortably led on the scoreboard, building a four-goal advantage in the opening stages. However, poor management of that lead, combined with mistakes typical of the start of the season, allowed the Asturians to cut the gap to just one goal. Huesca recovered, though, and went into half-time 15-12 ahead.
Although Bada continued to lead, the gap did not grow and the game never fully slipped away from the visitors. This eventually turned the contest into a fast-paced end-to-end affair, with blows being exchanged at great speed. However, two defensive plays in the final stages enabled Nolasco's team to claim both points in their first game at the Palacio de los Deportes and continue building confidence.
