Bada Huesca will be the first team to take the court. The Huesca side will make their debut this Saturday at 20.00 at BM Zamora, aiming to make a strong start to a season in which they are among the candidates to challenge for promotion. The team coached by José Nolasco want to return the club to the ASOBAL League, where it spent 15 seasons, and face the challenge with a squad that retains several players from last season while also welcoming new arrivals.
Nolasco, however, prefers to set aside the tag of favorite. "We are training well and I think we have a foundation in place. From there, we will have to build on it and make it more consistent," explains the coach, who is clear about the mentality his team needs: "I don't talk about favorites. I want my players to go out and win every time."
CONTAZARA ZARAGOZA
Contazara Zaragoza, meanwhile, will begin their second campaign in the División de Honor Plata on Sunday at 12.00 at the Siglo XXI Pavilion. They will face a demanding opener against BM Guadalajara, who were recently relegated from ASOBAL and are one of the teams expected to challenge near the top of the table. Sporting director Juan Caamaño acknowledges the difficulty of the start but is backing ambition: "A very tough start to the league awaits us against a team recently relegated from ASOBAL, but we want to be ambitious from day one and compete on equal terms with every team in the division."
Coach Carlos García also approaches the opening game with positive feelings after a preseason he considers very good. "The team has worked intensely, taken the concepts on board well and we arrive at our debut with positive feelings," he says. Although he recognizes Guadalajara's potential, he is clear about the objective for the opener: "Our intention is clear: to compete, be solid and show from the first day who we want to be this season." Caamaño also called for the fans' support to turn the Siglo XXI into a fortress: "This year, the fans will be key in the matches we play at home."
