This academic year, the University will welcome more than 900 new undergraduate students, over 130 students in university master's programs, nearly 80 students in its own qualifications and almost 200 USJ Sénior students. San Jorge University now has more than 4,100 students in total.
The campus currently has 463 international students, representing 12% of the student body, mainly from France, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, China, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Mexico and the Republic of Korea. In addition, 419 Spanish students come from outside Aragon, representing 14% of the national student body, particularly from Navarra, La Rioja, the Basque Country, Castile and León and Catalonia.
A NEW BUILDING TO BOOST PRACTICAL TRAINING
One of the main new features will be the Innova building, with a surface area of 1,600 square meters, located next to the Faculty of Health Sciences. The facility will expand the spaces dedicated to advanced simulation and immersive technologies and will include six classrooms, multipurpose areas and student spaces focused on practical learning.
The campus expansion will continue with the construction of a ninth building covering 2,600 square meters, work on which began at the end of 2025. It will be connected to the Student Building and the School of Architecture and Technology and will house creative and digital manufacturing workshops, laboratories, classrooms, offices and collaborative spaces.
These facilities will be joined by the new Biosanitary Sciences Laboratory, the fifth at the Faculty of Health Sciences, designed for practical activities and experimental techniques related to biosanitary training.
NEW DEGREES LINKED TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
In the academic field, the main new development is the University Master's Degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence, which is launching its first edition to train professionals capable of designing and implementing solutions based on this technology in different sectors.
The program strengthens USJ's commitment to artificial intelligence, which began in 2023 with the launch of Aragon's only undergraduate degree in AI. With this new program, the University now offers nine university master's degrees at postgraduate level.
The Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence: Strategy, ROI and Governance will also begin. It is aimed at professionals interested in applying this technology to decision-making and organizational transformation processes.
BRIDGING COURSES AND WELCOME EVENTS
Before classes begin, the University is offering refresher courses for students at the Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Architecture and Technology. The courses are designed to consolidate prior knowledge and facilitate students' integration.
As a new feature, a specific event for new students will be held on September 7, with guidance and motivation sessions. It will include the activity “Your First Class: Experiencing University Beyond the Classroom” and a masterclass on motivation and self-leadership given by Miguel Justribó Ferrer, vice president of Brand & Consumer Journey at Newlink Spain.
The faculties will also hold the activity “Emotions, Time and Maps to Avoid Getting Lost,” featuring experiences and advice from students and former students. The program will conclude on September 8 with the traditional welcome event, where new students will meet their classmates, professors and the various university services.
ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENTS FOR THE 2027-2028 ACADEMIC YEAR
San Jorge University will open the admissions process for the 2027-2028 academic year in October, with new degree programs to be introduced. The main addition will be the Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry, with 30 places, which will expand the Faculty of Health Sciences' offering and have a strong clinical focus centered on patients.
The Bachelor's Degree in Social Education will also be added. It is designed to train professionals specialized in socioeducational intervention, social inclusion and community development within the Faculty of Communication and Social Sciences.
In addition, the Bachelor's Degree in Journalism will introduce a dual-study format, allowing students to combine academic training with professional experience in media outlets, companies and institutions. From their third year onward, students will take part in real-world projects and join newsrooms, communications departments, agencies and other organizations under academic and professional supervision.
With these additions, San Jorge University continues to expand its offering in areas such as health sciences, education, communication and technological transformation.
