Her testimony comes as Aragon's health centers have begun vaccinating this age group and people with risk factors. There are around 319,000 people aged between 60 and 80 in Aragon, and flu vaccination coverage stood at around 45.6% last season, well below the 72% recorded among people over 80.
"LAST YEAR IT WENT VERY WELL"
Marisol recalls that she used to suffer several colds throughout the year, "up to three or four times," while in recent months she has barely had one. She also says that when she did get the flu, it was mild. "It went wonderfully for me," she said.
In her case, she opted only for the flu vaccine and not the Covid vaccine. "I didn't catch it at the time; I must be asymptomatic," so she does not consider it necessary, she explained, although she acknowledged that her partner has decided to receive both. Simultaneous vaccination is available for the groups included in the campaign.
Based on her personal experience, Marisol encourages others to get vaccinated. "I was one of those people who always caught a cold two or three times a year, and the truth is that now that I get vaccinated, it has gone very well for me," she said. "I encourage people to get vaccinated because you always have a little more protection. Anything that helps is a step in the right direction," she concluded.
