“Tobajas is suspended, but everyone else is available. We will wait before making a decision on Lucas Terrer. We will see how he is feeling and whether we take any risks, but we want everyone available,” Real Zaragoza coach Ibai Gómez said.
Ibai did not want to give away many clues about Real Zaragoza’s lineup. “Rubo, Diego and nine others” will play. Nothing that cannot be deduced. However, Ibai Gómez did acknowledge that there will be “some changes” among the starters for the Blanquillo side.
MORE NAMES
The Real Zaragoza coach spoke highly of Vadillo, who has returned after a spell out with an injury. “Having him gives us a lot of richness. He is different from the rest. We will see whether it suits us better to use that depth from the start or bring him on late, knowing that he is coming off a month-long injury and may not be ready for 90 minutes,” he said.
Opposite them will be a Huesca side that does “many things well.” He recalled that they have the same objective: securing direct promotion to the second tier of Spanish football. It is an important detail.
“It will be a key match without the ball, in defense. We are working very well, just as they have analyzed us, we have analyzed them too. It will be an enjoyable game. The emotional, technical and tactical aspects of two teams fighting for promotion all come together… they are the ingredients for a great match,” the Real Zaragoza coach emphasized.
ANDER, TOO
Ibai Gómez acknowledged that he has always had a “good relationship” with captain Ander Herrera. “There are times when players hold back when saying things, and Ander does so less. He helps me a lot. You know that his voice is often the voice of the team. He is an outstanding captain and embodies Real Zaragoza’s values,” he said.
“I am not the only one who has been able to achieve this. He has played an important part; he knows Real Zaragoza better than I do and contributes a lot. He used to be more mobile, whereas now he is more positional. He does not have the energy he had 10 years ago. He gives us a lot. He makes those around him better,” he concluded.
