Real Zaragoza get Vadillo back into the fold

Good news for Real Zaragoza in Wednesday’s training session at the Ciudad Deportiva. After almost a month out with a muscle injury, forward Íker Vadillo returned to training with the Aragonese side. His progress will determine whether he plays against Villarreal B, the group leaders on goal difference.

Real Zaragoza returned to training at around 12:00 p.m. Following a minute’s silence in memory of those who died in the train accident in Toledo, the players who started the Copa del Rey match against Tudelano went to the gym. Everyone except Pereira, who played only the first half.

Real Zaragoza won the match in convincing fashion. They prevailed 0-4, with goals from players who needed to make their mark: Delgado, Pau Sans (twice) and Pinilla. In that respect, the match proved useful.

In Wednesday’s session, the substitutes from that match – most of them regular starters in the league – worked together. They included players such as Iranzo, Diego González and Ureña… a recognizable group. This was where Vadillo appeared.

The forward remained with this group of players. After suffering an injury almost a month ago, on October 3, he was able to begin working again. The diagnosis had been very uncertain, as the medical report only confirmed “a muscle injury.” The range of possibilities was broad in the case of the Real Zaragoza player.

IN DOUBT FOR VILLARREAL

His presence remains in doubt for the match against Villarreal B. He returned on Wednesday, leaving only two more training sessions before the game: Thursday and Friday. Therefore, everything remains uncertain.

Barring any surprises, the rest of the Real Zaragoza players will be available. That said, it remains to be seen what happens during the final stretch of the week. In any case, if there are no developments, Ibai Gómez will have almost the entire squad at his disposal. The situation surrounding the aforementioned Vadillo remains to be seen.
