Cold air aloft will bring heavy or very heavy showers and thunderstorms overnight and during the early morning in the Balearic Islands, Albacete and surrounding areas, the Valencian Community, Murcia and Almería. They may be accompanied by hail and, in the Balearic Islands, very strong wind gusts. From midday onward, they will continue in these areas with less intensity and may also develop in the Baetic ranges and nearby areas.
TEMPERATURES TO FALL
The Cantabrian coast will have cloudy or overcast skies and will receive a front with light rainfall late in the day. Elsewhere on the mainland, clear skies or high clouds will prevail. The Canary Islands will have cloudy skies on the northern side and mostly clear skies in the south. Morning mist and fog banks are also likely in high areas of the northern third and in the Strait of Gibraltar, while the dust haze will begin to ease in the Canary Islands.
Highs will fall in the southern half, the northern plateau, the Mediterranean coast, the archipelagos, Ceuta and Melilla, with a notable drop in the southeastern quadrant. Lows will fall across the country except in Badajoz and Huelva, where they will rise, while light frosts are expected in high areas of the Pyrenees.
Seville will record the highest maximum temperature among provincial capitals, at 33 degrees, followed by Badajoz and Córdoba, at 32. In Aragon, Zaragoza will reach 28 degrees, Huesca 26 and Teruel 24. Minimum temperatures will be 15 degrees in Zaragoza, 13 in Huesca and 6 in Teruel, which shares the lowest temperature with Ávila.
Winds will be moderate along the coasts, from the northwest in the Cantabrian region and Galicia, from the north in the Empordà and Menorca, from the east elsewhere in the Mediterranean and from the southwest in the Gulf of Cádiz. Inland, winds will be light or moderate, while in the Canary Islands they will be moderate and northerly, with some very strong gusts in exposed areas.
