Stability will spread as the hours go by, bringing mostly clear or slightly cloudy skies across much of Spain, along with some patches of high cloud. Unsettled conditions will initially persist in eastern mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, especially in areas of Almería, Murcia, southern Valencia, and the Pitiusas Islands.
Throughout the day, skies will tend to become mostly clear, although an isolated shower could still develop. Galicia and the Cantabrian region will see cloudy intervals, as will the Strait of Gibraltar and the Alborán Sea, where occasional rainfall is possible.
In the Canary Islands, skies will be cloudy on the northern side, with a chance of drizzle, while mostly clear or slightly cloudy skies will prevail elsewhere across the archipelago.
FOG AND HAZE IN SOME AREAS
The day could also bring scattered patches of morning fog in northern regions and southeastern mainland Spain, as well as along the Mediterranean foothills.
There will be elevated dust haze in the Canary Islands, although it will tend to ease as the hours go by.
TEMPERATURES FALL IN THE SOUTHEAST AND RISE IN THE NORTH
Maximum temperatures will fall, locally significantly in the Alborán Sea area, southeastern mainland Spain, and both archipelagos. By contrast, temperatures will generally rise across the northern half of the mainland, with locally significant increases in mountainous areas. Elsewhere, there will be little change.
Minimum temperatures will fall across most of mainland Spain and the Canary Islands, while the Balearic Islands will see little variation. Tropical nights, with minimum temperatures above 20 degrees, will be limited to parts of the Mediterranean coast, the Canary Islands, and the lower Guadalquivir Valley.
Córdoba will record the highest maximum temperature among the provincial capitals, at 35 degrees, followed by Badajoz and Seville, at 34. At the other end of the scale, Teruel will record the lowest minimum, at 3 degrees, followed by Soria at 4 and Ávila at 5. In Aragon, Zaragoza will range between 14 and 28 degrees, Huesca between 11 and 26, and Teruel between 3 and 28.
CIERZO WINDS IN THE EBRO VALLEY AND STRONG TRAMONTANA GUSTS
Tramontana winds will blow at strong intervals in northern parts of the Balearic Islands, with very strong gusts likely in the Ampurdán region. Northeasterly winds will be moderate along the northwestern and southeastern mainland coasts, as well as in the Canary Islands, where strong intervals are expected.
Moderate cierzo winds will blow in the Ebro Valley, while westerly winds in the Strait of Gibraltar will turn moderate easterly. Light winds will prevail elsewhere, mainly from the north and east.
